Heather is an award-winning garden writer and photographer living in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, a Zone 5B gardening climate. She loves all aspects of gardening, from selecting trees, shrubs and perennials for her suburban home to growing fruits and veggies in her raised beds. As Taste of Home’s gardening writer, Heather is passionate about helping people navigate the ups and downs of backyard gardening, whether it’s providing guidance on solving vegetable garden problems to choosing the best hydrangea variety. She hopes that by sharing her knowledge, she’ll inspire people of all ages and abilities to get into gardening.
